I love to educate prospective pup owners about hypoalergenic coats. You can find another blog post that goes into more detail on coats. I just re-posted it, so hopefully it's easy to find.

Here, I just want to note that the straighter coats are less hypoalergenic than the 2 curly coat types (fleece and wool).

30% of F1 (half and half) labradoodles are straight hair and NON-hypoalergenic.

Tip on picking an F1 pup- If it looks like a lab pup and not like a teddy bear, it will be a shedding dog, NOT hypoallergenic. Some entire litters have this coat (you'll see a lot on KSL).

Our pups are F1Bs

95% of F1Bs (1/4 lab, 3/4 poodle) are hypoallergenic and have fleece (wavy) or wool (tight curls) coats. The other 5% have straighter coats and are less hypoallergenic. You can tell by 6 weeks. The straighter the coat, the less hypoallergenic they are. These pups are VERY light shedders, but not ideal if there are allergies in the home.

This litter we have 2 pretty straight pups. They will be beautiful dogs, smart, loving, easy to train. But, they do not have the "ideal" coat. Therefore, we reduce the price on these pups.

Meet Clover.

Clover is a very sweet and gentle male pup with a strawberry blond coat that appears to be a little straighter than most. He will be 25-30 pounds full grown.

Valentine is a beautiful red girl whose coat appears to be coming in a little straighter. She will be 20-25 pounds full grown. She is playful and loves snuggles.
